This year, Morrisons has created the perfect addition for a Father’s Day fry-up: one of Britain’s biggest supermarket sausages, handmade in store by its skilled butchers.
At 10 inches long and weighing up to half a pound in weight, the ‘Daddy of all Sausages’ is double the size of the supermarket’s bestselling pork sausage making it the ideal Great British Breakfast treat for Dad this Father’s Day.
The special sausage will be available in selected stores from Friday and sold at Morrisons Butcher counter, priced at just 59p per 100g / £5.90 per kg. As Morrisons butchers will be making the sausages instore from scratch, weights will vary but the ‘Daddy’ sausage is expected to weigh up to half a pound and will contain 94% meat.
Morrisons Master Butcher, Roy Craven, comments: “What greater gift for Dad this Father’s Day than a special breakfast treat? Our handmade pork sausages are a bestseller, which is why we have developed an even bigger version this year to help you cook your Dad the ultimate Great British Breakfast.”
Morrisons sold more than 500,000 sausages last Father’s Day week alone and its instore butchers predict to sell even more this year.
Morrisons ‘Fresh Format’ stores have introduced sausage making at the butcher counter and also sell other handmade lines including the Italian Hot, Chorizo and Spanish sausage, if you think your Dad wants something spicier.
